Lack of photographic documentation undermines assessment of Hidradenitis Suppurativa phenotypes – van Straalen – – British Journal of Dermatology
Recently a study conducted by Frew et al. was published in the British Journal of Dermatology. Frew et al. conducted a analysis of the current HS literature and retrospectively assigned different phenotypes according to van der Zee and Jemec, Canoui‐Poitrine et al, Martorell‐Calatayud et al, and Naasan and Affleck. to these cases. We fully agree with the authors that genotype‐phenotype correlation studies are dependent upon reliable phenotyping.
